Anne Veck’s team in the news!

Anne Veck and MP Victoria Prentis

Our friend and supporter since day one, salon owner Anne Veck shares a double whammy of good news stories with us this week.

First up, Anne runs an ec0-friendly set up and is well known for her interest in looking after our planet. We’re pleased to hear she’s won local recognition for her endeavours with a  formal visit from Victoria Prentis, Member of Parliament for North Oxfordshire and Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Leader of the House of Commons. Yikes! Victoria called in to find out more about Anne’s eco-friendly systems and practices, such as using infrared heaters, compostable towels and energy efficient LED lighting. Victoria happily chatted with members of staff and posed for a selfie with Anne (see above). The MP commented: “Businesses like yours make a really important contribution to the local community.” We completely agree with Mrs Prentis and urge everyone to do their bit to help our planet, even if it means offering your clients paper straws to drink from instead of the dreaded plastic straw!
“The last 12 months have been outstanding for the Anne Veck group and the visit from MP Victoria Prentis to our new Bicester salon tops it off perfectly. We remain committed to leading the way in sustainability for hairdressing in the UK and the recent award nominations are recognition of the hard work and commitment of Anne and the whole team.” Keith Mellen, Director at Anne Veck salons

Second piece of ‘good work’ news is that Anne Veck team has raised a whopping £1,375 for a local charity with a day spent offering haircuts for £25 and colour services for £55 and funds going to charity. Local people loved the chance take advantage of the special rate, warmed to see a local salon supporting a local charity close to their heart. All funds raised on the day went to Sobell House, a charity which has provided care for the people of Oxfordshire for over 40 years and offers physical, psychological, social and spiritual care to those facing life threatening illness, death and bereavement

Go team Anne Veck! We love hearing what your salon or yourself are up to, so please don’t forget to send in any news to to be in with a chance to get featured on
