We were delighted to be invited along to watch the first ever Respect LAB event in London last night. This is a Learn ABout (ah ha, that’s the LAB bit) for hairdressers where a line up of people have 10 minutes each to share their ideas and visions. Neat!
ON THE BILL
Held in one of our favourite venues – The Distillers in Hammersmith – the Respect team hosted 7 speakers for this inaugural event, with a bar and music to keep the mood informal … just how we like it… and many famous hairdressing faces both on stage and in the audience. The vibe is reminiscent of our OpenChairNights where hairdressers speak to each other, with a short time to catch attention and win hearts on a subject dear to them. With an open door policy, the audience is free to come and go, swap stories and news, join in the banter with the presenters and of course, raise a glass to the industry. The plan is to hold these nights regularly throughout 2020 and you can rest assured, we’ll be working to get HairClubLive members on as many of the nights as possible. Let us know if you’re keen to be put forward as a speaker? AND WE PLAN TO GET OUR PREMIUM MEMBERS ticket discounts, too.
We heard great 10-minute presentations from:
Errol Douglas MBE talking about Instagram • Mikey Pearson at Manifesto on mens hairdressing for today • Gina Conway salon owner describing luxury hairdressing in 2019 • Stuart Roberts sharing information on Haircuts 4 Homeless • Karen Lowe explaining best show planning procedure • Robert Masciave informing us on what the future brings • Andrew Barton closing the evening with a heartfelt message on the importance of salon hairdressing.
Bravo from us. We loved it.
