The BIG ONE is…

Oh wowser… The first ever Big One Trophy presented by Tribu-te magazine in the UK has made our eyes water – three of the winners are HairClubLive members and supporters… way to go people! The presentation ceremony took place on the stage of the Aldwych theatre in London’s West End, just before the Tribu-te Show 2019 kicked off. Only the best for such amazing hairdressers…

WINNING BIG!

MEGA congrats to Dylan McConnachie @ Salon 64 who took the prize for avant-garde work – his collection won him The Experimental One trophy. Our Dylan has had quite a year… rough times with health issues but now a brilliant finish (as well as this competition, he’s also in the finals for British Hairdressing Awards Avant Garde Stylist of the Year) and we couldn’t be more pleased for him. We adore this image (left: from Dylan’s winning collection) and know you’ll be seeing tons more of him in the near future.

Rick Roberts scooped The Texture One trophy for his fabulous Afro collection, and we roared our approval as Rick stepped forward on the brilliant stage. See him pictured left with UK publisher for Tribu-te, Nicky Pope, Mike Vincent who owns the Tribu-te label, and Lilly Cox, editor of Tribu-te magazine UK. We knew he could do it!

Smashing it for teamwork, the Trevor Sorbie Art Team were named winners of the Big One Team of the Year, UK, and we loved seeing Tom and Tiziana (pictured left, with the Tribu-te team) step up to collect their bright red trophy. We’re used to seeing them at our #OpenChairNight events, so loved watching them on this big stage, where they belong. Major high five to you all.

Other winners on the night include:

The Design Salon of the Year: Rose & Wild, London • Up & Coming Hairdresser the Year: Federico Patelli @ Toni&Guy • The One for Colour: Jamie Stevens salon • The Client One: Brett McDonald @Cult Education • The BIG ONE: Federico Patelli

So, for 2020, we’re hoping to see many more of you in the finals and taking the top prizes. Watch out for news of when the next competition launches… be in it to win it!
